Many people think that all what a composer writes is
based on real experiences. Sometimes that is true, but not always.
"Bossa generica" is an example of a song that it wasn't motivated by real events.
I simply got carried away by the bossa nova goblins, that was showing me in a
subtle way, the classic elements that make the bossa (love, women, beach, sun,
etc. ..) and, in a fluid way the song was taking shape.
So much this music hasn't influence of personal experiences that when I finished
it, I didn't know how to name it.
In the same way that the generics drugs hasn't brand (for example), that music
lacked brand. And it was for that reason that I decided to call it as "Bossa
generica" (generic bossa).
